Year 2020/Day 1 ~ Restorative Chakra Alignment
Facilitated by Jessica Kennedy O’Brian and Denise Yocco
Happy New Year!
Surrender into the New Year and a new decade, as we assess our past programming, look to the future with choice and wonder, and experience the present moment deeply, with Chakra Healing through Yoga and Meditation.
During this class, you will hold seven restorative yogic postures of each chakra. As you nestle in, a guided chakra meditation will be offered that will allow for a deepening awareness and significance of each chakra, what is held there, and how our responses have been formed through the information (software/data) that has been accumulated over time. These powerful centers are the bulwark of a sacred architecture that holds expansive potential for our unique human expression. Relieving them of outdated and unwanted information, creates new space within each one, so as to restore and empower new ideas and creativity. You will release deeply held tensions and experience the profound sensation of your innate ability of choice, to self-heal.

Taking the idea of doing a chakra meditation and restorative yoga to start off the new year, we have created an event that will offer a seamless flow of both at once. As Jessica places you into a restorative chakra pose, beginning with the Root, I will overlay that pose with a Root Chakra meditation. Each of us will give information as to the pose and to each chakra that will deepen the awareness that you have of this sacred architecture within us that hold vast amounts of information about our life and our expansive potential. We will move from one chakra to the next with pose and meditation
Doing this on “Day 1” of the new year will allow you to be aware of the choices you have of what to keep of the old software we carry in each chakra, software that informs our responses, and what to delete. Having that awareness is empowering, and knowing we have choice to change the program that is running, is like growing wings to fly free. This will stay with you as an ongoing awareness and inner self-work that will begin on Day 1 of the new year, and allow you to choose to stay with it though the year and hopefully for always.
Restorative poses are gentle with adjustments built in for your comfort so as to achieve the full and wonderful benefit of each pose. It is not a flow yoga, it is a “restorative” pose that you are able to deep relax into.
Dress comfortably so it is easy to move into and stay in pose. I feel wearing tights is most appropriate. We will have all you need to be comfortable. You can, if you wish bring your own mat. There will be tea and discussion to close the event.
You will receive, to take home, information that will be helpful reminders to continue you own work past Day 1, as well as a crystal of your own choosing.
Please preregister.
About Jessica Kennedy O’Brian:
Jessica found her passion for yoga unexpectedly when her friend invited her to a class. It wasn’t love at first site because it challenged her to step outside her typical cardio workout and into her mind and body. Soon enough, she realized yoga became a passion. She’s received her certification at Enso in Media and has gone on to receive Trauma and Addiction and Kids Yoga Certification. Her favorite thing about teaching is learning from her students and being a voice that yoga is for everyone.
About Denise Yocco
Strange to write about oneself. We each embody so much as to what we offer to this time. In this respect I will offer the work I have done over the last 2 years with meditation and specifically in offering the insight into the chakras. I have led meditation in Heart Space for 2.5 years. Weekly, I offer the Soul Awakening Practice. I am a student always and my teachers vary from those alive and those who have passed. Looking forward to sharing with you.
