This will be the second part of our last group discussion on forgiveness. In this class we will discuss any process around what was discussed. And we will also begin to work on the putting back together the broken object that was representing our life and all the experiences that have left us broken.
We will apply the ancient Japanese practice of Kintsugi, where what is broken is preserved, and considered more valuable. The cracks are filled with gold, silver or platinum. Symbolically we will be illuminating the things in our life that have made us feel broken. We will be attempting to place value instead for all that our life always offers to teach us through the things that have brought us the most pain. ” As a philosophy, it treats breakage and repair as part of the history of an object, rather than something to disguise.”
Materials will be provided to clue and paint your broken object.
