A New Year~ A New Decade
Illuminating Our Bag of Life
Offered by Denise Yocco
We are not just moving into a new year with 2020, but as someone brought to my attention, we are moving into a new decade. This is a powerful time, as we all know. A turning point is, when in our life, what is in our life is changed so dramatically that we no longer can think the same way about it, or respond in the same way to it, or possibly forget that it ever existed. I feel this decade will be a turning point for many of us.
My mother used to speak to me about the stuff we call ours as our bag of life. She would tell me that if we had a choice to change bags with another person, we would always go back to our own. I have come to experience that as a truth. During a meditation this year, the bag of life came up with such clarity and the wisdom my mom was offering was illuminated. In that moment I felt it would offer some good wisdom, good enough to carry into the new year, and yes, a new decade.
So the premise being that we all have our stuff that we carry within us into every new year with the hope that it will change. And some things do. And some we have grown up to have and hold throughout our lives, the stuff we hold inside, the stuff collected from our life events, that has brought us to where we are in our life, holding the things we hold. We all have heard so many times that we must let things go. We want to let go. We must resolve to let go. But there are some things that are difficult to let go. Honoring that, during this event we will get to look at our life bag, our stuff, from a different perspective. We will drop the words resolve and let go. And from the perspective of making better use of what we have held on to, we will look to how we can re-purpose , or up-cycle what has held us, what we thought we could never let go, what could never change. Can we make better use of the words consciousness, awareness, illuminate?
Our process will not be difficult, but it will require us to show some courage to step away, in a figurative way, from the things and even people that hold us in the routines of our life. To step away from the many layers of our outer world, so as to step into our inner being, our center , and our light. We will find and hold our inner light long enough to bring some out with us. We will learn to process vertically towards more awareness and consciousness, rather than our routine in linear time of past, present, and future. We will see how the things we thought were polarized and opposite, are just different, like the different sides of one coin. Ultimately, making all of our stuff serve us, rather than us being the servant to our stuff. Illuminating, bringing light into all the darkened rooms where we shut the door, and seeing how that light transmutes and transforms what we thought could never serve us in any good way. I will do as I usually do in offering a way to see what I am saying, creating a clear image to observe and work from.
You may wish to bring a journal . I will make the request that you fill your bag with your stuff…your life. A bag will be provided. I will have items available to select from that will assist you in filling them. We will meditate and I will use singing bowls and other vibrational healing sounds during the meditation. During this time our journey inward will be away from our bag of life, to gather light. Returning to our bag of life we will have light to offer to it. And I will share that without removing anything from our bag, our bag will feel lighter.
It is New Years Eve so there will be some non alcohol refreshments to enjoy.
Please preregister.
