HI to All,
Due to the upcoming Easter holiday, our next two weekends will offer no classes. Also, regretfully we bid a blessed farewell to April Lefler, who led the T’ai Chi Chih class every other Tuesday. She offered her class with grace and beauty and Heart Space will miss her. She will continue to offer the Open Reiki Share every 1st Wednesday.
Also would like to put out an invitation to anyone that may be able to offer a Restorative Yoga Class on Tuesdays as a substitute for right now. Please contact me if there is a possibility.

Time Released Forgiveness
I am no longer a person of any particular faith or religion. I feel I was able to glean whatever good I was able to find in them and move forward, very contentedly, it seems, now. I hold and carry within the remembrance of teachings, even though I no longer hold the posture of any particular religion. I now continue to learn from all traditions, and deeply respect the wisdom they can offer. I feel religious, with no religion.
This time of year will always bring up for me the remembrance of forgiveness. I am reminded of the instances in my life where forgiveness has come easy, and also where there are still places holding out on the completion of a full pardon. Always more work to do.
We are all similar and forgiveness is a big leap for many .
I think it is because we are told, or were taught that we must forgive and forget, we choose to hold off. We are often not ready to do one, let alone both, so we do neither.
We hold it. I am not speaking of the instances in our life where we an apology will evoke our forgiveness…the little day to day occurrences where we say or do things to one another without thought and the need arises for an interchange of forgiveness. I do not want to minimize these, or the damage they can do, but I am referring to the trauma, and soul splitting events that most all of us have encountered, and for many still hold, because we just cannot bring ourselves to forgive.
Hence, I have thought how we can begin to approach our forgiveness process in increments…time released, so that we can allow ourselves to begin the process of healing. Maybe this is the work that is done when one is in therapy. I would hope so, but I do not know.
The apology, that is usually the precursor to our offering of forgiveness or pardon, is so often non existent when there is that terrible event. It may never come, or it may take years, in so many instances it is impossible for it to occur. So, what to do? What not to do?
I am no expert, but I am a student of life, and an experienced forgiver. So, always leave space for forgiveness and never develop a no forgiveness clause. When we feel certain we will not forgive, the wound or tragedy, will continue to cause much pain and suffering over and over again, this time self-inflicted. Those that are wounded will wound others…most oftentimes, themselves, but at times others, as well. But when we leave space for forgiveness, the healing can begin much sooner. Even though you may put it off, you know it is there to address at some point. You are open, and gathering strength for that very thing to occur. Work on self forgiving if you feel you played a part. We can always begin with ourselves. Offering both apology and forgiveness to ourselves, with deep and clear intention is powerful work.
Start there. Be honest. Never accept blame if there is none. Offer only loving kindness to yourself and in time you realize you may be ready to take things a step further. Next you can begin to just think about how and in which way the one who wounded you was perhaps wounded by someone else. Compassion now begins to rise up for the person who did you harm. Maybe and not always. But sometimes it does, and then you begin to see the path before you more clearly. And slowly, the journey through that path that you created, seems less fearful and more hopeful. You now know your freedom lives at the end of that path.
Kintsugi, is a Japanese custom or tradition of filling the cracks of broken objects with gold. They believe that in so doing they make what was once broken, more beautiful, of greater value. That is how I feel about us. We have much to offer one another by way of the things we ourselves have suffered. Over time, I believe, we also can replace the dross that has filled the broken places within ourselves and fill them with gold. Fill them with love and forgiveness, with kindness and compassion and use them to help others in need of knowing the same.
The next topic of discussion for our N.O.A.H (http://www.heartspacemedia.com/events/n-o-h-nectar-awakened-hearts-forgiving-increments/) group will be on this aspect of forgiveness. It will be on April 26 , 7 to 9PM. I hope you can join us.
Enjoy the weekend,
Namaste,
Denise Yocco
