We are moving into our 3rd year in Heart Space. Our community of those attending classes is growing. I feel there is a deep yearning for self knowing and for self love. We are offering more variety in our classes and workshops, hoping to attract you to yourself.
I am wanting to offer a new feature on the weekly and monthly classes that we offer and those who lead them. Offering to you why they feel they are valuable to those attending and the joy it gives them in offering them. I am going to begin with them in no particular order, but rather in the order they arrived into my mail.
Seems appropriate that we being in February with our Thursday evening offering of True River Sangha. It is a love offering. The words offered below are from Rhonda Fabian. She has explained to me that there is no one leader of the Sangha. They are a community of students and teachers and they will often take turns in leading the Sangha…. Rhonda says:
Go as a River; Go as a Sangha’ – Thich Nhat Hanh
A sangha is a family, a beloved community.
Mindfulness is the energy of being aware and awake to the present moment. It is the continuous practice of touching life deeply in every moment of daily life. True River Sangha follows the teachings of Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh. Our practice consists of a half-hour seated meditation, brief walking meditation, readings, tea, and dharma sharing. Our sangha is connected to local dharma teachers, Blue Cliff Monastery in Pine Bush, NY, and Plum Village.
Some weeks we are few, sometimes many. We offer a path that our members say has helped them transform sorrow, fatigue, and anxiety. Change is gradual and gentle. One day you wake up and realize you feel more peaceful, grounded in reality, and open to Life. Our sangha is connected to local dharma teachers, Blue Cliff Monastery in Pine Bush, NY, and Plum Village in France.
All are welcome. Cushions provided. Family days and other events offered.
This is a warm and deeply caring weekly offering beginning promptly at 7PM, every Thursday evening. The love for what is offered is evident and felt. There is no fee. A donation basket is available should you wish to make a donation to the Sangha. A wonderful variety books by Thich Nhat Hanh are made available to take out on loan.
