Dear Friends and Community,
I would like to welcome all those new to this email and the Heart Space community.
Thankful for the day that began with meeting a friend for coffee,tea and a good chat.
Thankful for the sunshine of this May day.
Thankful for the walk that Nick and I were able to get in.
Thankful for all the love that surrounds me.
I feel full of something I am hoping I can articulate. Ever since I painted these dervishes I have been beset with vertigo. Crazy it seems and it id most certainly, probably allergies, but dizzy is dizzy, and the room spins. I have tried to step into it, fall away with it, but I get afraid that I will just spin myself away. And it feels awful, so I breathe my way through it until the spinning stops. I am back, and I breathe until I fall asleep.
The dervish swirls and it is a meditation. They are in ecstasy,lost in their devotion and in the reality of light. And then I look at the sort of swirl that many people are in, lost in the despair of our country and its governing forces, noting what it is doing, and what it already has done. And instead of light there is a maddening darkness, seething with vile actions and intent.
And I know it looks like politics but it is more than that. It’s darker. Our country has weathered politics, and I am not saying that it won’t weather this as well. But this requires all that we are doing, and then some. And the then some, is that light, and it must be our light that we add to everything else. The light, our light, that creates a safe and soft place to land at the end of each day.

What So Ever You Do…
So this is my thing. The thing I keep putting in front of myself and you too. That is, to know thyself. This is the quest. We are that, that we can come to know. We try so hard to know, and change what is happening in our country, in our world, amongst us, the why and how it is allowed to move so freely and aggressively, causing so much strife and misery. Has it ever been known, the answer found? Yes, is the answer, but only when our light is found.
We are the mini-verse of the Universe, The micro of the macro, the little world to the big world. We contain the counterpart of all that is the great world and true reality. Know Thyself and we can get close to understanding what is happening all around us. And as the light dawns in us, the darkness we see manifesting itself in thousands of bad decisions and actions is realized as a lack of light. A darkness moving in darkness.
Light becomes our Light work. It is informed by the expanse of Being in us. We do our best work to assist and participate in ways to help,support, love and heal ourselves, our families, our neighbors, our communities, and our world. Our light is our energy re-birthed through self-knowing. Our eternal flame is lit, our sun dawns on times darkness. And we know what we do not have to do, and do what we can and must.
And it is being done by so many in so many different ways. So much light is showing up.We each are called and drawn to our cause. So many needs to be seen and touched. So many hearts to reach. So many stories to be told, so many truths revisited, so many lies to expose. So many food banks to stock, so many lives to be saved. Protesters keep showing up, and lawyers keep defending the innocent. Then there are those that pray, and write letters. Love in the time of fear is a big work. The most courageous and brave. It is a maddening swirl of work, but if we stay in our heart and in our light, there is joy in the good work that is being done, however hard it is to see, however difficult it is to do.

Just to let you know that I did get to a doctor for the vertigo. Fluid in the ear. Allergies.
