Dear Friends and Community,
I hope everyone here is doing well. My hope is that each of us are able to to enjoy the simple joys of life, while navigating the onslaught of bad news and events in our country and throughout the world. I find it unsettling that some of us can go about our daily lives as if nothing were going on, while there is a large part of our population, that are living in fear for their safety and the safety of those they love.
While what is happening in our country, and throughout the world, looks like political unrest, I feel is more akin to a spiritual breakdown, and even bankruptcy. There is great harm being done to many people in this country, mostly because our government,and those aligned with it, believe it is ok to deny people their rights and equal justice under our law because they don’t like how they look, or what they do, or who they are. They simply don’t care for people, or how they are being hurt.
And more and more are hurt or threatened with harm in one way or another, just so their gluttonous greed and egos are fed. No one is safe. Not even those who think they are. Moral bankruptcy is spiritual bankruptcy. And that is the bad news. But there is good news amid this maddening chaos. And I would like to share, remind, and allow all of us here, to feel that there is hope brewing in our country even under the avalanche of inhumanity, masquerading as governance.

There Is Good News…
The truth is, that as Project 2025 checks off all the damage already done, and continues toward what is left, the majority of us living in this country will be affected in one negative way or another. It is only the top tier of those most wealthy that will benefit. I am not a percentage person, but I know that our hope actually arises out of the worst happening to the most.And the hope is already risen over the horizon, in that most of us, who are not yet affected, care about those who have been. And those numbers are growing.
There are those among the caring that offer daily their energy and resources to the damage being done to our fellow citizens. Lawyers, governor’s, mayor’s, state representatives, community leaders and organizers, and their communities, are not backing down from peaceful protest. These are acts of love…LOVE. Letting Our Vision Evolve to feel for others in trouble, in standing up for them, in caring for them, lending them support in all ways we can, in all the ways we must.
There is also those waking up to this nightmare. And the only way to stop a nightmare is to wake up. Many were fooled and are willing to be honest about it. And that sort of bravery, is good news. Good news is those supporting programs that have been defunded, so they can continue. All sorts of people doing all sorts of things to help, assist and carry on, defiant not to give up or give in.
Good news is that we still have news that reports the truth. It is all happening in plain sight for all of us to see, if we be willing to look. Many journalist are keeping us informed every day as to what is going on. The good news is that we are no longer paralyzed from shock. We cannot afford to be. The good news is that LOVE is alive. People care about what is happening to the neighbors they don’t even know. Offering our generosity of spirit to the many concerns of this time, is simply being a good citizen, a good American, a good person, a human being.
I have not the slightest clue as to how this will all turn out for any of us. But I know that for those who tried to do something, looking in the mirror will no be hard. We might get to look older, a bit worn, battle weary, but our hearts will know no shame. We will be able to tell our children and grandchildren we cared and we tried to do something. Our hope is in each other and for each other. Our hope is that we care. Our hope is in every gesture, in every expression of loving kindness we can and will offer to all people.
I find strength and support in the joy and resilience of nature. In tending to my garden,in creating a Fairy refuge, in listening to the birds sing, and to the silence it all moves in. We all are a fragment of the aether we live and breathe in. Our fragments do not differ from one another’s. There are not more important fragments, or least important. We all belong to something greater than we realize. To ignore that is to ignore the essence and joy of life. To miss being filled by what has filled us. To miss what is never a false hope, but rather our only hope. This is not political. This is sacred and holy.
