Dear Friends and Community,
Every week seems long and bit much to hold. There is weather, and there is chaos in our country. And I cannot just make believe that there is any real movement towards things getting better with either one of them. Everything feels extreme. And the truth is as well, that what I can offer as good news, not everyone can agree with. And yet I will stick with it, with the hope that it may, at some point, stick to you, who do not agree.

The Only Good News…
I feel by now that those who either know me, and or those who read this email with some degree of regularity, know that I am not the voice trying to help you relax. I use my voice here and with myself to awaken us from what keeps putting us to sleep. Because in that sleep we realize the nightmare we are living right now, in so many ways. We all know how difficult it is to carry ourselves through this time of chaos. We are experiencing a new and loaded level of dysfunction in our government. It is crooked, criminal and cruel. And to all of our frustration and confusion, it just keeps rolling on. And as it is with any nightmare, we have to wake up for it to go away.
And for those of us who care, and the numbers are growing, who are confused and dismayed, who feel sad, disheartened, and deeply concerned, I will say again and again, that we are the only good news there is. Along with those who are on the front lines covering all that is going on, speaking truth to power, and some paying the price for it, keeping us in step with this thousand arm beast reaching for everything it believes stands in its way of getting its way. Along with all the many organization assisting those directly being affected, trying to make sure that peoples rights are honored. All of this that brings us such bad news is the good news, while we still have it.
We, in some way, like the image, are holding our feet to the fire, making our life in the ways we each do and can, a sacred container, a holy grail for our offerings, for who and what we hope to protect, for what we hope to salvage, for those we pray will not be harmed, and for those already hurt, harmed and damaged. For those not being fed. For the rule of law beings discarded and traded for blatant lawlessness. It is good news that we will not back down or stop trying.
And our offerings are varied and different. They don’t look the same, they cannot be the same. But they are all sacred. We may call it different things. But it is sacred all the same because it is an expression of love, kindness, and compassion. It is divinely informed humanity. We may not be seeing ourselves like that, but again, that is what it is.
And we all are wanting the chaos to stop, and not one of us know that it will or how it can. We all want relief from this time. We want the hurting to stop. And we will keep doing what we can. And our hearts will not waver. And our feet will stay firm. The fire is lit. We are trying in all the ways we know how to offer to this time something sacred and something needed.
And we need to see all the ways that people are offering themselves to this time. Our honor and respect for each other serves as a support for each of us to continue without let up, what we know is needed.
