Dear Friends and Community,
Last week this time we were heading into a very powerful weekend. It was Juneteenth and there was the opening of the Obama Presidential Library energy, and there was the Solstice, Summer and Father’s Day energy. It was love coming in on all sides, from every direction and through every element. I hope you had your share of all of it. A word of thanks for all those who attended the solstice drum circle. It was lovely to see so many.
It is up to us to keep ourselves in the energy of love. And there is always enough to hold us in it, so long as we look in the right places.To allow ourselves to be led by the nose towards it, to get a scent for it, and to not miss our own musk, by looking in places or in people who will lead us from our own.
We are surrounded by an amazing love, but we will for sure miss it, if we miss our own. We have to be our first love again, like when we were young, and we imagined that the world turned for us. This time, not in a self absorbed way, but in a divine way…Aham Prema…I am divine love. A love with no conditions to hold us back from seeing what the Divine sees in us. I have found in the work I do,this seems to be the hardest love to understand and procure. And yet without it we will miss this great surrounding Love that lifts us away from the groundswell of noise and menace. And just where is away?

It being summertime I am leaving some open spaces should we decide to go play.

Surrounded…
Once, a long ways back, a friend of ours wrote a song that I was not able to understand. “I Am Surrounded by Love”. I know now that perspective is everything. Where, how and what we see varies from person to person. Until we have a divine view, we each have our own, and with our thoughts we see and create our world.
And by a divine view I mean the view from within where we encounter the more expansive being that we are. The being that knows, from a deep awareness and remembrance that we are here by Love and for Love. And it is a Love that this world will not awaken us to. This world will keep us in a sleep that we cannot be shaken out of. And it is simple enough and so easy to keep us from for all we need do is just not attend to our own being…just not love ourselves in the way that matters most, if we are to know why we are here and what we are here to do. What gift are we here to find in our depth and offer to the world?
And that thought when thought begins the journey. We begin to to be attentive to the more expansive view. And we know our world needs that if we are to keep our planet alive, and all who live on it. We do not become perfect or saintly, we just become real. We become honest. We care. We forgive. We have compassion. We are kind. We do not judge. We love. And all this we first do for ourselves. We are the first experiment of our true nature.
It takes time, and yes it is hard work to undo the damage that we thought we had to carry with us to our last breath. Yet the results of such attention to our inner world are worth it. It opens the window to view, see and feel a universe brimming with playful beauty that we begin to play in. We begin to give and receive from there. We see what has been waiting for us to see. Like sees like. And we see that we are surrounded by Love. That is the true reality. More so than the one we see with our two eyes.
These times we are living through in the world of misery and forgetfulness are like a storm blowing a fiery hot and drying wind. It is taking its toll on our tenderness. Some are drying up, some even giving up. It does sometimes take the worst among us for us to be able to see the best in us waiting to be remembered and returned.
We do not have to stop living our life, but rather just deeply love it as if it were the greatest gift we have ever been given. It is that and even more. Each of us has what it takes to know that we are indeed surrounded by Love.
