Dear Friends and Community,
I am getting ready to leave for our vacation…that is where I am stepping away to. I hope to spend part of my days away painting…a lot. It has been a strange year for me and for Nick. Navigating new health issues while I am preparing for surgery. One day we woke up and everything felt like we had been ushered in through a new door. The year so far has been a real teacher, and I am thankful that we are both good students. The experience of a true life is the thankfulness you feel, no matter what may be,of how truly beautiful life is.
Every day we are blessed to love our way through another day. So many gifts, so much given, and in response, so much we have to offer.
My heart breaks a bit each day for what so many of our fellow beings are having to endure. So I must say, that I look forward and depend on that daily blessing each new day, so I can be clear on the more important things of life, so when called upon I can be an encouragement for myself and to anyone who may be in need of such as well. I hadn’t painted in a bit with so much swirling around us. and when I did the other evening, what is at the top of the page occurred. And it feels like this is what happens to each of us each new day. We are blessed with yet another opportunity to get it right…which is…be better, be good for everyone, be a good actor, do no harm, or be blessed to endure, to shake off all that so many of us are feeling, in the variety of ways sadness and disappointment show up when we see and feel and experience the grift and greed coming form the top.
And I know it looks something like this, how we are blessed. I can feel it. We endure through blessings such as this…being touched each new day with Love, with Gratitude, and with Courage to meet a new day…to endure not just for ourselves, but for all those we care for, all those close to us, all those we love. The One who blesses knows we are needed for each other.
So this is what I will leave you with for a couple of weeks…this image of us being blessed. Of us lining up each new day once our eyes open, as the words thank you escape our lips. Before your feet hit the floor, stay a minute or two to receive and feel the blessing. There is not one person on this earth who will not respond better once they realize the gift we are given each new day. There is not one person on this earth who is not in need of it. We are really just too amazing a creation to miss what we are. Hard at times to see, even in ourselves, but it is there to be known as it is blessed each and every day. And that blessing, when received and realized, turns out to be the gift we are able to give in turn to each other, the healing we offer to our world.
