Sound – Healing…

Dear Friends and Community,
From where do you listen when there is so much noise, and so much to hear? I do not mean from a place, a channel, a station, or a site. I mean from where in you do you listen? From what part of you do you hear?
It is a dilemma of sorts, and I wish to offer a way through the conundrum, even just briefly, so that in this time of “so much”, you have a place to go to feel some sound-healing.

In these days of so much unsoundness and noise, where it either feels like your heart is breaking or you mind is exploding, depending on where you are listening from, we need to know not just how to brake away it, but to know where true sound-healing is. You have to carry it with you. And we all can, if we allow ourselves to listen, to pull out of the noise of just about anything, the sound of all things, to listen to where it all goes.

I will continue down the page after the weeks schedule. By next weeks mail I will hope to have a better idea when I can resume the full schedule of events that I offer. I will give an update on Nick’s recovering at the end of the mail.

Sound-Healing…
The original sound healing was silence. And it is still silence. We imagine it to be the sound of singing bowls and gongs. And while they are wonderful and make us feel what we feel, and allow us travel along their vibrations into meditations, they are only a temporary respite. I love them myself, yet it is not the sound-healing I am speaking to.

I am speaking about the literal sound of silence that exist all around us, that we can never hear for all the noise we make. This sound is the primordial hum of existence, the never ending first breath of creation that we exist in. It is a vortex that all our words and sounds are drawn into. An expansive void that we exist in, are held in, are loved in.

A vibrational hum that has no end. All of nature is enthralled by it. And for the most part most of the human family misses it, for if we heard it our world would not be as it is. Once you hear it, you also feel it. You feel the movement of things going through it. And your inner sight can see the movement of timelessness. It is an experience that we are born to have, as it is part of who we are.

And it is worth a try to experience it, simply for the connection you feel to that which is bigger than all that we see, and bigger than the messes we make of things, more powerful than those who think they are powerful. It makes you feel sound and whole and healed, not in any temporary way, but in a deeply knowing way. And you can’t forget it,even if you never hear it again, it lives within you.

So the method to hear this hum of existence is to sit in silence, to be as still as you can be until the silence and stillness surrounds you, Don’t try to hear it, just be still. Allow your thoughts to float away into the stillness. The more you try without really trying is best. In nature, at the beach, listening to the sound of wind, or birds or water, or rain, you begin to feel the movement of all those sounds in this very vast stillness that hums. And to this stillness you can give your entire heart, knowing it is safe and will never break.

About Nick…for those who have asked…
He is coming along. The worst part about this recovery is that it is slow, and you do not feel you are recovering because it is so painful. Just 3 weeks since the surgery we are told Nick is doing great, even though he is still not feeling that great at all. We were warned it would be like this. So we are thankful for each day we get through without having a setback. It is hard work for both of us, worst for him because of the pain, We will get to the other side of that too at some point.

Peace and blessings,
Denise Yocco
