Dear Friends and Community,
This is where I wish I were brilliant, or at least better at reaching more proficiently, the places needing to be reached more constantly, the places that our world and civilization have forgotten exist in us. The places long abandoned by time and trends. Abandoned by cultures and religions. Abandoned by social media.Abandoned by education. Abandoned by parents, and then by children and by grandchildren. We live and exist in this abandonment. Abandoned by our own desires, abandoned by both love and fear. We let it happen. Each of us in our own way. No pointing of fingers, and nothing to judge. It comes at the cost of being human. But what are we to do now?
I will continue down the page, after the weeks schedule and events.

Ritual Lament…
We have put on a good face and made believe it would all turn out just like each of us wanted…so much want we all have. We created hope as a strategy and pretended we had faith. Most of us still pretend. We will pray for better outcomes only if they include our own. We still use hope as a strategy while never seeing the tragedy of not even knowing for what we hope. We must understand our failure. Our failure has been for a very long time to neglect the faith that fosters and grows the collective hope of our humanity, rather than the stunted vision of individual hopes and dreams and even nightmares. In that sort of divine collective knowing, and being, and doing, all of our dreams could be realized. They could. And then we would not be where we are. And where are we? Are we ready again to just hope it will not be so bad? Or do we know better? Maybe we feel it in our bones, or lying on chest,in our hearts? Where are we feeling what is happening in our country? If there is anything left in
us reminiscent of core honesty and truth, relative to a living faith that has nothing to do with any religion, no matter even how satisfied one may be over the present president and his brand of fearmongering and misery, we then know in our depths, we are in trouble.
And we have been in trouble before, yet the damage now is so advanced. We are not feeling ourselves connected to a living breathing consciousness, we are unmoored from our sacredness and the sacredness of each other. Our world and culture has moved us away from our own humanity, allowing a suffering world, and a diminished population to advance our demise. And these are just the facts.
What hurts one will hurt us all. For what we are heading into, whether ignorant of its impact, or knowing how deep the dis-ease has spread, we should feel the lament in our hearts for how far away we have traveled from our own good sense of knowing what is good for us. We should lament our loss of not being able to distinguish truth from falsehood, integrity , wholeness, decency, honesty, from deceit, corruption, dishonor, and brokenness. We are more than just adrift, we are lost at sea. Are we brave enough to lament together? Can we lament at least that something has died?
Well, I suppose I am human after all. I finally felt, in my body, the moment we are all in…not just our country, and just because of one man, this has been happening for some time, and like any perfect storm, it is more than one or two things, it is many things converging and finding cohesion to co-create a new age, akin to the dark one we might have thought was a thing of the past.
A ritual lament has been the process of the ages. Those who knew what was being forgotten, or traded away, sounding the warning, writing the dirge, prophesying, wailing at the insistence of our forgetfulness as one age ends and a new one begins. Each generation eager to move ahead of its most recent past while forgetting to carry the seeds most worthwhile to save. There are always things to salvage, just as much as there are to leave behind. On and on it has gone, with more and more seeds forgotten, all the way back to the seeds of our primordial past. What is new is not always better. What is forgotten is not always remembered, especially, when buried under the weight of the forward progress of power and greed, with enough lies to weave a blanket that could cover the entire earth.
And we lament from the place within us that is the same in all of us. We lament our loss of divine sight to love rather than fear, to give rather than take, to be kind rather than cruel, and to remember rather than forget. And in our lament is the celebration of the seed of possibility, our potential to meet the moment and venture beyond it, into the age of Aquarius …our personal age of Aquarius where our light is meeting our own transformation, wellness and healing. Where our clarity crystalizes, and our hearts are more sure to love, than our minds to fear.
And what to do now to breathe new life into our essence? We breathe one conscious breath after another. We venture beyond what we know or can see with our two eyes. We attend to our own development and exploration. We allow silence to speak to us. We become our own personal renaissance. We explore the possibilities of where we can offer our brightest light. We resist staying down. There is work to do. We open, and honor our fragility, like a flower that blooms to offer its fragrance only to the night. We are Earth meeting Sky, weaving our unique warp and weft, honored to contribute, to offer a balance of harmony and beauty to the whole of life, careful to place a “spirit line” or exit point, as Navajo weavers do in their rugs, that release any expectation, or attachment to the work done, to the beauty expressed, to the gifts given, and received. To take back what is uniquely and sacredly ours at the end of each day, to offer to our own life’s harmony and beauty again and again. It is our
anchor and support, our shield and strength. Our well to attend and draw from. Its depth beyond our own imagination or knowing. But it is there in us all to explore and drink from.
Our starting place is always from our heart, no matter how broken, or bruised it may be.
With love and gratitude,
peace and blessings,
Denise Yocco
