Dear Friends and Community,
Good morning dear ones. Have I said I loved you lately? I love you, and I thank you for being here with me. For all who are regular readers of the mail, we are adventuring together. I hear from some of you from time to time. I am glad for that. I am getting a late start to the mail. It was a long day with two wonderful events in Heart Space, a late dinner, and a night of many thoughts. Just thoughts. No worries, or concerns, or wondering how things will work out.There was something different in it, and I am just at this moment realizing what it was.
Of course I will share that. I feel a bit all over the place in a good way. I have many, what seem like random thoughts,that will land in the same place. Playing Pinball struck me as a good title for this days entry, as I wanted each thought (ball) to play with as many points as possible, that is, with gains, with introspection, with value towards wisdom and not folly towards strife.
A question? Can the answer always be Love? Or Light? Or Trust? I don’t mean to a math problem. I mean to the big life questions, that arise, and stay, and stick, and have the ability to block us up and off from the flow of Love and Light and Trust. I feel we should find our way to have Love, Light and Trust, be the resolution to our thoughts and concerns. For so many reasons it is just better on every level.

Playing Pinball…
I love playing pinball. I grew up playing in a tiny local store, Ben’s, where we bought candy and “dipsy doodles”, an ice popsicle that Ben I think made himself…or Mrs Ben.
There were just 2 pinball machines, and on a rare chance of finally getting one, I would play for hours. My dad would have to come get me …I could lose all track of time. I was good too. I won lots of replays, hence the long day at Ben’s. I still love to play if I come upon a chance. A bit more expensive now.
So again any analogy to pinball is positive. It was working each opportunity with a ball to make all the lights and bells go off, and of course racking up more and more points for extra balls and games. And while my process this past evening was quiet and calm, it brought me back to Ben’s and pinball.
It has to be noted that collectively we are all suffering in some way. If we love someone, we suffer , if we don’t we suffer too. So much illness and dis-ease everywhere. So many people spend their days and nights in worry and concern for someone, perhaps even themselves. And if we are not personally suffering, we suffer with those who are. We suffer the loss of wellness in our society and the level of sickness and lack of well-being that persist and worsens. Every generation is suffering. We all are weary from the weight of our concerns for a culture, a time, that seems doomed for the lack of care, concern, respect, and love for our fellow humans, and the multiple system failures in govern-ment that operates with disregard for the preciousness of life.
We see life and people treated like scientific experiments that are picked apart, calculated, summed up, righted, wronged, dissected, saved or discarded based on what appears different, and what is feared. We align with the force of gravity in this way. Gravity is a energetic force that we need to stay on the ground, but when our thoughts and thinking, ideas and ways, are grounded in the energy of gravity, we are pulled to our lowest point. We are there, caught in the phenomenon of low points, due to gravity. Pulling us down and down, how far down will we go?
Our personal response matters more than we can know, especially at this time. If we can see the import of the gravitational pull as a field of energy for pulling us down, perhaps you can see that light, as the second force of energy in the universe, can pull us up.
Simone Weil, calls this light energy, Grace.
Grace is our way forward. It is the response towards us from the Source of Light, that allows us to be lifted up rather than pulled down. If it is the human condition to more easily be pulled down, than go up, to harm, rather than protect, to so callously discard, rather than save, to enshrine greed, to lie, to abuse power, then we must also know that there is a condition in place, to turn to something other than ourselves, so as to be delivered from the self that moves so easily down.
To feed on light. That is the conclusion and the only remedy for us. Without this capacity to move up, to reach towards what is greater than ourselves we remain in the depths of gravity. Perhaps not in deed or thought. But the downward pull takes too many of us into fear worry, helplessness depression, confusion, and surely, insecurity.
Simone Weil brilliantly says it this way. “There is only one remedy for that: a chloraphyll conferring the faculty of feeding on light.” I love it! You can feel it. And you also know that all things in nature serve as a mirror for us. So to feed on the light of love, on the light of trust, on the light of what is divine in us. To feed on the light of understanding. To obtain the light of Grace.
We are all here fulfilling our own divine purpose. Some folks teach us what never to do, others serve as our inspiration. If we just respected each others journey without doing no harm, our world would change in a hot second. I know that won’t happen, but we each can, those of willing to try, those willing to stay as attentive and alert as a cat waiting for a mouse,to what is possible for us to do.
We can zap all our thoughts with light. We can go higher, because there is an energy for that, unlike gravity, it is light that offers us grace to embrace love where is it difficult to do so. And to trust that things are as they are because they have been allowed to be this way, and that everything is happening so that we can see the Light and find all the ways we can to grow in and feed on it. There is no one issue on this planet that cannot be resolved with the love belonging to that Light. We must come to know that.
