Dear Friends and Community,
Winter is sure here. And after re-watching Game of Thrones, probably now for the 3rd time, I feel both the certainty and the dread in the expression, “winter is coming”. And that “winter” had not just to do with the weather as such, but more about having to endure a period of great uncertainty and being ready for it…prepared for it. And to add to that, not just for oneself, but for all living beings on the Earth.
We are close enough to the eve of change in our country, coming with a shift in tone and vibration that promises to do more harm than good, even among those who imagine otherwise. I do not see many guardrails that can stop the forward motion of such predatory promises finding fruition. I am not going to go through the litany of those vile promises that will be enacted upon fellow citizens, fellow humans, fellow friends and little ones, family, even ourselves. I am not going to trash talk the incoming administration. I am here as a friend, as much for myself, as for any and all who, as well, are feeling the dread of what is coming. I am raising the question about our readiness as we step into this “winter” that is coming, and wondering about just how prepared we are as a country, as a people, as parents,as communities, and as individuals. I know that I am not alone in giving attention to this. And that is what friends will do. They will care and be concerned when there is the need for that
sort of thing. And I know there is a need for that sort of thing right now.
And I know too,that most are not prepared, simply by the fact that we are here again. A country that does not pay attention to what someone without sight could perceive is in no way prepared for the downward vibrational slope we are on. So what to do? I will continue down the page, after the weeks calendar and whats upcoming, “On Your Mark”

On Your Mark…
Our mark is the mark we stand on, not to go, or to do anything in particular, except to know where we stand. To know our mark. To know who we are. To know how we feel. To know what we stand for. To know what we live for, and of course to know,even, for what we would die. Our mark, is to know our heart. To know who we are. These are the things, that once we know them, they cannot be taken from us. And they then inform our life, and what we do, and how think and how we respond.
We clearly, as a country, do not, and certainly did not, contemplate from our heart enough, the reality of this outcome we are heading into. Faith, no matter which one, has been rendered impotent, by the quicksand of politics, polarized thinking and the fear of loving our fellow human brothers and sisters. Do we not see our doom…our end? Do we not realized the stupidity and foolishness we have ventured into? My heart feels grieved for us all, but especially for our children and grandchildren.
Day # 1 is coming. It will be followed by the “winter”. I want to be wrong about what I feel certain about. It is a prayer that I will continue to pray. But, should all the promises be met, what is the Valyrian Sword that empowers and protects you? What is your priceless steel with primordial undercurrents and ancestral roots? What ancient wisdom keeps you on your mark of strength and your own self-knowing? What is it that will keep us in the stream of endeavor towards our greater humanity?
I feel we are on the precipice of both destruction and discovery. We are living on the swords edge where our vigilance towards our mark will give us a bit of both. Where what is new is born from the the ashes of what has held us back from a shared experience of a discovered humanity and co-created with the knowing of who we each are as sacred and divine.
We have work to do. While hope is not a strategy, we can each do a bit more to be more, we can contemplate more on love rather than fear, we can assess where we will set our mark for the “winter” we are in. Why is what we are so hard to be? Because it is only remembered from “the mark” or place within. Not far from us, but the journey is long, and once on the path,we can never lose sight of the mark that is ours alone. Attend to it. Be patient and loving towards your own discovery. If we all do the same we arrive at love together.
Yes, for sure “winter” is coming and is in fact here, but we can be prepared. Our starting place is always from our heart.
