Dear Friends and Community,
I am not surprised by current events. I knew this is where we were headed. Anyone who imagined differently was just not paying attention to what we as Americans should most be concerned with when electing a president, ie, maintaining and sustaining the rule of law, the constitution, and our republic. That is always the first thing. In the frenzy of stupidity we must have forgot.
I never considered myself a patriot, compared to those who called themselves such. I felt more rebellious, more aligned to see the injustice and discrimination against far too many that were also our fellow countrymen. Far too many among us have never had freedom to speak freely. But there were always better angels who found good people with louder voices that were able to use the laws that defined our country as a democracy, as a republic, to seek justice in behalf of those pushed aside.
We still have those better angles finding their way into liberties voice. But the structure is crumbling. And the rule of law is dying. Do we go silently into the night?
I sure hope not.

Below is a hymn and a spiritual, sacred mandate to honor our freedoms. Something to be felt and held and honored and maintained. I have changed some words.
My Country, Tis of Thee
My country tis of thee,
Thee…me, you, us.
Sweet land losing liberty.
Of thee I sing.
Land where our fathers died.
Over and over and over again to save
and protect our freedoms, our liberty.
They honored the most important thing.
Land of the pilgrims…we know what happened there.
From every mountainside
Let Freedom ring.
My native country,thee,
Land supposed to be
of the noble free.
Of what is now a mockery.
Thy name I love.
I love thy rocks and rills,
the woods and templed hills;
That some would rather kill.
My heart with rapture thrills
Like that above.
Lets hope to hear again
the music swell the breeze,
And ring from all the trees
Sweet freedoms song.
Let mortal tongues awake-en;
Let all that breathe partake…again;
Let rocks their silence break,
The sound prolong…please be not gone.
Our fathers’ God, to thee,
Author of liberty,
To thee will we sing
Long may our land be bright,
With freedom’s holy light;
Protect us by thy might,
To end this unholy night,
Where we have traded
love for fear,
and put Love out of sight.
Great God, the King,
the One Alone,
To Thee we sing.
Sometimes we just need to be reminded. Sometimes we lose our way in the frenzy of chaos and mistaken it for an exciting change.Sometimes in all that excitement, what we didn’t see slipping away, is gone.No one is safe when democracy slips away.
Oh the Butterfly. I pulled this card before I began. Transformation and change. We have waited long enough. We have shed many skins. Inched our way across many fields dreaming ourselves beautiful. Do we dare allow ourselves to evolve towards beauty, strength and grace in facing what most of us have never had to face? I have never felt more hopeful or trusted that we might find our way out of this. Something feels more ready to make this madness end.
