Dear Friends and Community,
I still do not know what to say. I realize that there is no bottom to this underworld nightmare we are in. So in the only way I can to find a sense of myself, and things that are truly good, I ascended upwards.
I offered prayers with smoke with several bowls of sage, sweetgrass, cedar and yerba santa, seeking the wisdom in every direction, and in all the elements and from all the protecting spirits and guardians and asking the fire to burn away the anger I felt about all the lies being told so easily, with shark eyes and stone faces.
I felt that there was great truth in that work. Truth is the ultimate kindness, even when it seems hard to take. Being in this moment as a country is a bit scary without the stability of truth. To know there is truth and to know that one can walk and live it. With every new event, with every new crime and obstruction of justice, we turn another corner of worst things. And in the 1st week of January, things are just getting started. This week was murder that we all got to see.
So we can expect more. Things will get worse, I do feel. So while looking up at the smoke ascending upwards catching the sun, I offered love where ever it was needed to go…and it needs to go everywhere. And I offered gratitude for all the love and loves in my life. And I asked that my feet stay solid on the ground so I don’t forget what I am here to do. And I kept thinking all day about truth being the greatest kindness there is and how abused we are as a country being told so many lies.
I will be honest and tell you that even after all the smoke, I am not sure I smiled even once. I barely even cried. I just had to honor it. My anger was burned up. I am in re-covery from this event, which is working to take back my power to heal and move along again. I honor the dear and sacred life of Renee Nicole Good. May her soul journey well. May her loved ones find peace in their own re-covery when it comes. May we help one another to be strong. We are all witnesses to this tragedy, may we give it the greatest kindness and honor it with truth.
