Dear Friends and Community,
For for some strange reason getting to this point of the email has been very strangely a different experience than usual. This is my 4th try at getting to this point. But to be honest my day was sort of like that too. I was relieved that before I had started the email I had landed at Namaste. And I am going to stay here with it, with you.
Ram Dass comes to mind when I feel “Namaste” It was through him and his guru, Neem Karoli Baba, who he affectionately called Baba-ji,or Mahraji-ji, that I really came to more deeply appreciate the subtle depth of Namaste.
To say it is a realization of a profound truth that we often do not realize. It actually is a realization in and of itself. To say it, to feel it, to know it as true is a divine revelation, an awakening.
It means in Ram Dass’s words:
“I honor the place in you
Where the entire universe resides.
I honor the place in you
Of love, of light, of truth, of peace.
I honor the place in you
Where if you are in that place and
I am in that place in me,
There is only one of us.
And only that which in is in you,
That is also in me,
Can hear what I am saying”.
Getting to that place is a journey in and of itself. And yet a universal view is the healing we need to meet the pace of our time, and to navigate a future that will bring soundness and balance back to preserve the ecology of all land and water on our Earth, as well as bringing harmony back among all the sentient beings who dwell together here.
I want all here to know that in Heart Space there is an abundant opportunity to learn how to feel Namaste. I want to share that in some way, every class, event, or workshop, is welcoming everyone with Namaste, even if it is not said, because not everyone is ready to hear Namaste, until they can feel it. I have decided to start, now that summer is waning, to offer a Q&A with those who lead classes, so you can get an idea of what is offered and what might feel good for you to step into.
The first Q&A is with Terry Anne Wildman, also called Smiling Buffalo Woman, who offers monthly, well over a year now, a women’s circle called Women’s Ways Circle (https://www.heartspacemedia.com/events/womens-ways-circle-2024-09-08/) .
That will appear down the page, after the announcements, the weeks schedule, and upcoming events.
Announcements:
There will be no meditation on Monday the 10th of this week. We will resume on the Monday the 16th.
There will be no Tuesday (11th) class this week, to resume on Tuesday the 17th.
Nick and I have found a place to go,and we are going.
There will no yoga on the 8th or 22nd of this month.
Soon to appear on the schedule is a new meditation class that will feature breath work. That will probably appear as a twice a month practice.
Also there might be an Intro to Astrology class.
And a Rune Reading event.
Also, last thing. I have decided to change the Chakra workshop to 3 consecutive Saturdays beginning with Sept 28th and the 5th and 12th of October. I feel this is better as the entire weekend might be too intensive, and weekly provides a space for integration and contemplation of what is learned between each class. I apologize for the wavering. But I think I have landed where it will be best for those who attend.

Q&A with Terry Anne Wildman/ Smiling Buffalo Woman
Q/Tell us what Women’s Ways Circle means?
A/The Women’s Ways Circle was created by Deep Arrow Woman to bring women together to share their truths, their experiences, their insights, in order to deeply connect with their inner selves
and remember who they truly are. Gathering in circles remind us of the power of the circle – it represents life, the seasons, the sun, the moon, the earth and a circle allows everyone within it to be
equal. Women’s Ways Circles refers to the way women have been gathering together for centuries to share, celebrate, empower and
love each other.
Q/Why do you feel the class event you offer is relevant for women today?
A/It is so relevant for women to gather today! Just look at the state women in the world continue to find themselves – still working one
and two jobs to help make ends meet, still fighting for reproductive rights, still fighting to break the glass ceiling, still fighting for affordable child care, still fighting for equality.
Finding a group, a circle to share concerns, experiences, and wisdom, some say “finding my tribe”, allows a women to feel empowered, teaches women how to truly listen, and provides a place where women can be seen and heard.
Q/What do you feel, a woman living in our culture today can learn about themselves in your class that would be helpful to them in navigating the pace and pressure of our times?
A/In many traditions, women gathered and supported each other raising children, gathering foods, and working together in a community. Today many women feel alone in their role as mothers, aunts, grandmothers, daughters, sometimes even sisters. It is helpful and healing to hear from other women about their journeys
and how they have been able to navigate their lives today.
Through the Circle, women can see themselves in other women’s sharings and gain insights into their own feelings, thoughts, and experiences. I have seen women transformed by ah-ha moments in Circle. Its not something that is planned, but happens organically as women open and trust the energy of the Circle.
Q/In your experience are you finding that women feel the need and have the desire to learn more deeply about themselves and the role
of woman in ancient history, the tribal mothers and grandmothers, the goddesses and oracles that were so deeply respected for what they offered to their time and culture?
A/Many young women today find their lives to be overwhelming and stressful so although they may desire to learn more about their roots in history or about women in ancient history, they find they are exhausted by their daily lives. I maintain that it would be helpful for women to take a couple hours a month for self-care and
connect with other women and ultimately with their own inner voice to support them in their work in the world today.
I also find women gain insight into challenges and conflicts they are facing today by hearing about women throughout history. They
learn that women have gathered together for centuries to share, teach, encourage and learn from each other. Women throughout
history were strong, compassionate, hard-working people who kept families and spiritual communities together. We can learn from
these women, whose stories are coming to light today.
Q/How important do you feel it is to have a space in our life for sacred ceremony and a practice of spiritual self-care?
A/It is very important for women to find space in their lives for sacred ceremony and spiritual practices. Our Circles include an Opening Ceremony which opens the hearts and minds of participants to hear what they need to hear and share what is true for them.
These practices not only empower and heal them, it empowers and heals people who they live and work with.
Q/How do you encourage, or assist those that sit with you, to be positive about themselves and the times we live in?
A/My intention for our Opening Ceremony is to bring light into the Circle and raise the vibration of the women that sit in Circle. In this way, as women become more open and deepen their connection with their higher selves, negative thoughts are sometimes revealed
(our old tapes) as we pass the talking stick and when spoken are powerful moments. I invite women to reframe the negative thoughts
they tell themselves and replace them with positive statements. By reframing their negative thoughts and considering another way of
seeing themselves, women have shared how healing this has been in their lives.
I am so appreciative to Terry Anne for taking the time to answer these questions. Having attended this event at times, I can tell you that I have always left the class feeling better than when I entered the door. Terry Anne is kind with a generous spirit for teaching with the realization of Namaste…seeing the universal oneness in the room, while seeing each woman as the individual being that they are. A rare find. I think this is a gem of a class!
We are all called to the subtle path of love through self-love first. Taking the time…giving ourselves the permission to learn new things about ourselves is akin to traveling to a distant land and realizing we have family there that have been waiting to see us, to know us, to love us. Once there the tedious travel is forgotten. We have found our true hOMe.
Peace and blessings,
Namaste,
Denise Yocco
