Dear Friends and Community,
I took this photo of our sunset in Media, on Wednesday evening outside of Heart Space just before a class was about to begin. This image is untouched, not played with. This was our fire sky, yet there were no fires burning. You pretty much get sky’s like this when there is lots of dust particles in the air. Our air is dry, as the ground is dry, as many creeks and streams are dry. It is a scary dry. And while flood waters inundate some places,as in Spain right now, causing much devastation and loss of life. there is little to no rain in our forecast. And so now I pray for rain.
Too much and too little is the imbalance of climate crisis. Our days have been stunning, but drying riverbeds should concern us. Many things at this time should concern us. When humankind fails to be concerned for the very land they live on, the land that feeds them, nourishes them, quenches their thirst with its waters, and when they take lightly the damage that climate ignorance has caused, with little regard for the continued arrogance of climate deniers who promise to further ignore the dangers, do we not wonder what fills their heart. A simple rule can be followed. “Out of the hearts abundance the mouth speaks”

Invocations…
The Navajo nation have a poem and way of being, called “The Beauty Way”, that as a nation we failed to adopt because we failed to see them and all the other nations of Native Americans we could have learned from. We could have been a wise nation of people had we seen them and adopted “the beauty way”. But instead they were cheated, made sick, and killed. Then the land they loved and cared for was taken, the land they never called their own, the land borrowed from Creator.
You see there is a start to things. Wisdom goes along “the beauty way”, and the loathing of those who are indifferent to the way of beauty goes another way. It goes away from the heart of being a human being. It is not hard to see what resides in peoples hearts when they live in fear of what is not the same as themselves, conjuring a fear of losing what you have because the memory exist of once taking it away from the Native American stewards of the land.

And the land knows what happened and is still happening. The spirits of the land know because they are the primordial protectors and guardians. They have a living memory. So it is not just the recorded and known history of lost peoples and traditions that are ignored and erased, it is also what is connected to them. It is who guided and protected them,and now us, who loved them and now those, who like them, hear and listen to what can only be seen and heard from the soul and heart with love and wisdom.

Wisdom does not die. It waits for a parched and hungry generation that is not afraid to look back to find what is missing here, so we can go consciously forward to co-create something new. It waits for brave hearts that are open to listening to the elements in all the directions and the spirits that reside in them, as well as our well healed ancestors that are waiting to warm their hands in our fires. It waits for those tired of what is untrue, namely that we are separate from each other. It waits for those weary of their fidelity to the darkness of fear that forbids awakening. Wisdom does not die. It waits.
And wisdom calls.
It calls when things get dangerously out of balance. It calls when what might be lost cannot be regained. It calls when we are at risk of giving our freedoms away. It calls when we are being called to denigrate others. It calls when the women of the land are being abused and harmed and allowed to die because their power to choose for themselves has been taken away. The land is our Mother, the Moon our Grandmother, and the lineage of Mothers and Daughters and Crones are very much alive. There are histories one does not wish to be on the wrong side of.
Wisdom is calling.
We have an election that really matters. No one should sit this out. No one. Every vote will count. Native Americans, in their wisdom, did things not just for their own children, they did it for the next 7 generations of children. This was part and parcel of the wisdom of “the beauty way”. They invoked, heard and listened to the benevolent spirits of the land, and all the mothers and grandmothers. They did not discard their women or abuse them with power. True wisdom know better.
Who is in your tent. Mothers, grandmothers,daughters, children and grandchildren? Which of these are you willing to sacrifice to unchecked power against them?
In 2016, on Halloween night, the last trick-or- treater at our door was dressed as DT. Of course it was foreboding. It left me so unsettled. It still lurks in the corners of my memory. As I embarked on giving out candy this Halloween, I was looking to see if there were any DT’s among the many, very many children greeted. There were none. I hope that bodes well for our country.
I have my own invocations and prayers for this moment. I hope you do too! I pray for us women to show up to defeat the ragged and degraded ugliness that wants to silence and disarm our right to choose for ourselves. I pray that men show up like real men, caring and honoring the women in their life. I pray we can reject the arrogance and presumption of holiness and duty to God in stealing the rights of a women’s autonomy over their own body. I pray we can find our way to the wisdom that is calling from the red skies, from drying water beds, to raging waters, to all the imbalance in nature, and in our thinking, in our words, in our thoughts, and in the things we do. I pray that we can each listen and discern the difference between words that heal and words that promise real harm. We have the rule the Jesus spoke, “out of the hearts abundance the mouth speaks”.
I pray that wisdom allows me to stay on the path of love no matter the outcome of this election. I pray for “the beauty way”. I pray we are that generation that hears and heeds the call of wisdom. We each have the hearts intelligence to navigate and discern this moment in our time.
Our success as humans will be judged not on how much we have, or who we walked over to get it. It will not be judged by the cost of living, but by how we navigated the concerns together to be sure everyone had enough. It will not be judged by our bank accounts, but by our generosity and care for each other. It will not be judged by power that promises to take away what we have so it can have more. It will not be judged on how much separation we tried to create between us, but on how much unity we found in each other,despite the efforts to separate us. It will be noted as success the 7 generations of our children we endeavor to protect by preserving our Earth and their protectection on it. Our successes will be seen in the abundance of love we found to give and receive in our life. It will always be love that is the highest rung on the ladder of true human success. Everything else is a ruse, and illusion, a distraction away from our intelligent heart.
Wisdom is making things pretty clear, which lends divinity to the choices we make. Love is always of the divine.

We have an election in our country that really matters. No one should sit this out. No one. Every vote will count.
I hope you enjoyed Halloween. I know the children did. Also there was Diwali, yesterday and into this day, an Eastern festival of light, symbolizing the triumph of light over darkness. And today, is All Saints Day, and Day of the Dead. So the veils are thin, and our access to wisdom is close. Should we choose wisdom, all we need do is ask.
