Dear Friends and Community,
I could not get to this last evening. I was emotionally exhausted after tuning into the DNC the last 4 evenings. Do those caring for their own soul not care for the souls of the world? Oh they do! We care by being awake to all that can hinder and harm others. also as well as what can bring joy into ones heart and life. Governments fall into that category. And, so far as I know, at least up to now, politics is very much part of what we need to navigate, without never losing sight of what governance should look and feel like. That is the soul part…the part belong to us.
I was exhausted with all the best of emotions. Relief. Love. Joy. Humility. Excitement. And of course there was Hope. As I watched each night there was the sprouting of the seed of hope. Not a false hope. Not a political hope. Not a governmental hope. It was a hope that only can arise out of our heart because it responded and opened to something old…ancient….primordial. The human adventure of love, and purpose of being. The primordial blueprint of our human uprising and evolution of being a human being. Is it not true that often we will have to dig and adventure into the deep and even ancient past to find a new beginning for oneself, or for a country, even for the world?
The ideas and ideals of governance are very old…they are primordial. We live with them and bare them out each day with every breath we take. So rooted within each of us and yet we keep looking outside of ourselves, waiting, and hoping for the relief that we all are wanting to find in those who lead us…”govern” us. The problem is that we all need different relief, and we really simply forget that it is our rooted knowing that offers to us a sense of not only ourselves, but of the way through to where our relief can be found, for all of us. It it always through the the depth of a heart often unrealized, connected to the ancients and the primordial wisdom of what can be known and lived.
I will share where I landed after the 4 nights of a wider view of what can be possible if we allay our fears and doubts about each other and the next moves we can make together for our future, by using the oldest of wisdom to do so. They will not be my words but the words of a dear ancient friend of mine who I keep close company with.

The Three Treasures
When most people hear about the Great Integrity,they say it is useless folly.
Because it is not like anything in the world we know, they also find it inconceivable.
On the contrary!
The great Integrity has given us three treasures to cherish:
The first is love.
The second is moderation.
The third is humility.
If you love you will be fearless.
If you are moderate, you might always sense abundance in life.
If you live in humility, you will be widely trusted.
But you will not have the capacity to love if you are fearful.
Even worse, if you are fearless and without love, you will always be courting disaster.
If you live in insufficiency, you will have no opportunity to be moderate.
If you live in overabundance, you not only live immoderately, but are always courting disaster.
If no one trust you, then compensatory ego will preclude humility.
If everyone trust you, and you lack humility, you will always court disaster.
The three treasures are practical guides to the Great Integrity.
The greatest foolishness is to live without them.
Lao Tzu
These are our roots. They live in us and we know them. When we are alone. When we hope and wish and pray, we know them. When we step away from the outside and sit alone with our ourselves, and connect ever so briefly to our deeply rooted heart…we know them…they know us, and we know The Great Integrity is us as well.
A seed within all of us. Hope is a boldness within that seed, yes audacious. A brave fearlessness that moves towards our inheritance of the three treasures. To know them, to be them, to offer them and to possess the knowing of where and by whom we can receive them as well. We are of so much more than we have been told we are.
I imagine a world someday, maybe soon…where we are all trying together to be the best we can be for ourselves and each other. Where do no harm becomes our daily mantra.
We can never have, all at once, what we would love to see as part of our daily lives here on the planet. But we can make a start with our own heart, to see where we each are ready to reconcile and compromise. It takes a very big village to collectively achieve the beauty of a liberated world. We must first be liberated from our own fears and doubts and lack of trust of each other.
It is a big step for us all.
Are we willing to say yes to this?
I so hope so.
