Soul Awakening Practice and Meditation
Led by Denise Yocco
Continuing the weekly reading of Be Here Now by Ram Dass. Each week we make it through a few more pages of the book. I try to bring us closer to the experience that Ram Dass had and share what he wanted to share with those who have read the book. Enlightenment sometimes may seem like a faraway concept, and yet we all have had enlightened thoughts. Sometimes we feel as though we must travel to the Himalayas to get close to it. There are those that have gone there, been enlightened, and bring it back in such away as to feel that we too have had glimpses. I so respect his journey, and the light he wants to share. I hope you will join us.
This is a fluid practice that changes each week. Usually in 3 parts: 1) sharing a teaching, 2) a 20 minute sitting meditation practice 3) Soul Awakening practice, 4) comments and discussion
I have been offering this practice in Heart Space since the late summer of 2017. I am thankful that I have been able to use the Soul Awakening Practice, which has been offered to the world, by James O’Dea, as a way to be in touch with a higher vibration and consciousness, as the foundation and support for the work that I have been doing and for what I feel called to share. I both love and thank James O’Dea for the light he has offered to me as a teacher and fellow traveler. We are living at a time of great change and turmoil, within ourselves and on a global scale, and yet, at the very same time we are being birthed into new awareness and light consciousness. We have an opportunity to rise up out of what we see, to become what has been seeded in us. I try to offer that awareness. I try to let each person see the unique potential they are to share .
Soul Awakening ~ Heart Opening ~ Light Shining ~ Love Flowing ~ Wounds Dissolving ~
What you may want to know:
It is simple. It can be done numerous times during the day within the course of your day. Once you have done it, the invocations, which are just two words, become planted within. The seeds now just need watering…practice.
It is powerful. The energy that flows during and after this practice is soft and flows easily from the heart. Also, you can feel that there are ripples of love flowing from you and all the places you have sent it.
It is healing. Beginning with ourselves we decide to heal. What ever it is that needs attention within us and in our physical body, we put loving attention and soul awakening energy there. We then offer the same to all the places we send it.
My feeling is that practicing in community will create a powerful environment for radiating peace within us and with all those we are in relationship with…which is everyone really.
Soul Awakening is the next place we need to go to experience the shift in our world that will save humanity. I believe this deep within my being. We must arrive here to survive.
It is my intention to offer this in Heart Space at least once monthly on Mondays and every Wednesday afternoon.
About Denise Yocco
I have been reluctant to offer anything about me as a bio. As you may know I am co-owner and co-creator with my husband Nick, of Seven Stones Gallery and Heart Space at Seven Stones.
I offer to this Heart Space community what I love and what loves me back. I am not educated by any university, or particular school of thought, only by what I have sought to learn and what life has offered to me in abundance to learn from. I feel deeply and passionately about self knowing and wholeness. I feel certain we can self heal through self knowing, self loving and forgiveness. I have taken The Peace Ambassador Training with James O’Dea, and heart honored to be part of the 2nd graduating class. I have taken classes in Non-Violent Communication and in Conflict Resolution, also have taken classes with Andrew Harvey, a modern day mystic, as I have leaned more into the great ancient mystics, such as Rumi, Hafiz, Nanak, Kabir, and Sanai,, and those modern, as well.
I have allowed myself to unravel and undo a few times. Have allowed myself to unlearn so that I can be learning in every moment. It is hard to keep learning when we feel we have learned. The space for learning and unlearning needs to be open…always. I am human and many times have missed the mark that each of these studies has offered to me. But I stay on course and continue to evolve. I possess no special skills to heal another, only the heart that keeps offering to others a way through, as I have found, and what I know works to heal. It will always come down to the work we do to help ourselves, no matter who we learn from, no matter who lays their hands upon us, no matter our teachers or guru, religion, or degree, it will always be our decision to heal ourselves. Our greatest service to each other is to do that work, and offer, from the heart, what we are learning through life, to be bridges, to be friends. I simply and passionately offer that. Deeply thankful and blessed to be of service.
