Sacred Circle Dance with Melissa
Day and time: Saturday September 23rd, 7-8:30PM.
$10.00 is the suggested price or what you can offer.
Sacred Circle Dance, sometimes called Circle or World Dance, is a gentle, healing way to bring body, mind, and spirit together. We gather in a circle because the circle is a symbol for community and the circle is the oldest form of dance on the earth.
Sacred Circle Dance is made up of traditional dances from around the world set to music that is a rich mix of traditional, classical, ethnic, and sometimes contemporary music. Many dances are simple and meditative, to the point where you can close your eyes and let the dance, dance you!
Important things to know and what to expect:
v Sacred Circle Dance is done for enjoyment, to create a sense of community, and to attune to our body’s deeper wisdom.
v No dance experience is necessary and all ages are welcome.
v Each dance is taught until the entire group feels ready to try it.
v There is less focus on getting the steps right, than on having fun and not taking yourself too seriously!
v The culture of origin and any stories that go along with each dance are offered when possible.
v There will be a brief break mid-way through for light refreshments, though you can take a break at any time.
