Play Through Painting:
Exploring and Experimenting with Paint, Collage and Clay
Offered by Charlene Lutz
Are you are new to painting, an accomplished artist or somewhere in between? All are welcome to join us for an evening of painting exploration, experimentation and most of all PLAY. Paper, watercolor, acrylic and pastel and collage will be provided.
We will explore technique, texture, light, space and form. Journaling, words, poetry, etc. are explored too. Abstract, figurative or realistic, the choice is yours!
This week, for something new, clay will be available. Clay can promote healing, reduce negative mood and anxiety, awaken creativity and foster socialization. We will experiment with hand building and using an assortment of tools to carve and create marks into clay pieces.
Please preregister. Those not vaccinated will be required to wear a mask.
Charlene Lutz
Artist and Art Educator
I am an abstract, mixed-media artist incorporating color, textures, depth, light, and motion into painting using collage, ink acrylic, pastels, and other various media. I interpret the world as colors, shapes, and sounds. My interest in the small details encourages me to see the big picture. I strive to achieve a playful curiosity and spontaneity while balancing intuition with skill.
Since 2010 I have produced 12 different series of paintings and drawings – each one reflective of a life stage. Today my recent work series is titled “Revelations in Color” and has been described as a “high-intensity visual carnival”, employing bold colors and abstract techniques. To date, this is the work I am most proud to display.
When I’m not painting, I enjoy being outdoors and staying fit and healthy. Among other bullets on my bucket list, I hope to hike The Appalachian Trail.
