Dear Friends and Community,
Only red would do. I have put this mail off all night in an effort to channel the words, the thoughts I am to to offer. When I awoke on Thursday the first words to Nick, after good morning, were” I am angry”. It wasn’t that I tossed and turned, or that I felt consumed to do or be anything but angry, I just felt a quiet and sad anger, with some rumblings of rage. Quite contained. What else am I to feel? I turned away from Nick to pull from my Dharma deck of words…yes, I pulled ANGER!
Every time, both times, and almost every day during his presidency, I learn something more about myself. Have you felt the same? I have learned more about what I care about. I have learned what I will stand up for, and what I can never stand for. I have given more attention to peace and love to learn that they are not soft fluffy cushions you fall into unconscious sleep in, but rather a steely sword, and iron armor, offering a well of wisdom, and a heart that trusts the timeless and perennial truths carried through time, knotted and tied to the sacred cord through lineage, culture, tradition, ceremony,angels deities, gods and goddesses, daimon and demons, proclaiming the sacred and profane. I have learned who I am and what I do not wish to be. Is that why he is here?

Don’t Miss the Symbolism…
I have always been what I thought was an American rebel, for democracy, but very aware that not everyone was afforded the benefits of the republic…liberty and justice for all and all it implies. Too many sins committed and too much blood in the earth to really feel proud of who we were. To many structures in place that were complicit that became poor teachers for us all. Putting us more and more into a slumber of unconscious agreeableness or silence, both, to things that would always be wrong. Segregation, separation, polarity.
Mobs, groups, party’s being formed, the loss individual critical thinking, the lack of understanding and the inability to discriminate between right and wrong behavior, or developing a sense for what it means to live in a democracy. This is the formula of how a dictator gets to have his way.
It seems there are many that are realizing the moment we are in. Many taking to the streets to rally and save democracy. Do we realize enough to know we can never go back to accepting it for just some and not for all? Do we know and realize what it will mean for each of us to step into a new idea of liberty and justice for all? Much would have to change. Adjustments in our ways and in our thinking. We must understand what it means to live under the banner of, “one nation under God, INDIVISIBLE, with liberty and justice for all. It might after all simply mean learning to be a human being. I feel we do know, and most are ready to work on our next experiment.
To the symbolism and to my anger and rage. Seeing a wreaking ball being put to the White House has been sickening to me. It says a few things we need to consider and contemplate as “the people”. He asked for no ones permission and believes he had full authority to put a wreaking ball to a property that is NOT his. The arrogance is appalling. It is called “the peoples house” and he is making it clear that he does not feel that way about it. He is wreaking that notion. He thinks it is his house and he has no plans to ever leave.
He has already taken the wreaking ball to our constitution, to our rule of law, to our supreme court, to our structures and pillars of government. The country is in free fall. No one is safe. The train is off the track and he does not care who is hurt or harmed, maimed or killed. Those who bend the knee have not found a safe haven with him. He is the only one who matters. He is the despot want to be king. A soul diseased person overrun by demons, sick of himself, to dishonest to be healed, or act in any way human, doing exactly what he is here to do; divide, conquer and destroy. He has managed them all.
It is up to us individually to not fall under the weight of this destruction. To handle carefully the heat of the rage we may feel, I know I am not alone. To not perish our good ideas and thoughts about each other and the dreams we may have for living in this country as the people we are, respecting each others life and choices. It will be a tremendous fight. It is already. Our battle to remain in our heart might be the most difficult.
And yet that is the one that will allow us to embody all the sacred warriors through the ages, our most healed ancestors, and all our good angels and guides. We need to call upon them and ask them to fight with us. Do you have a favorite god or goddess, a deity, an angel or spirit guide. This is their time too! We will need their fierce courage and strength to embody as our own. Build an altar for them.Light a candle…I use the little ones with the long battery life…they last 7 days. Gather in ceremony and in community. Meditate and pray. Give your deep heart to the cause of our nation, ourselves, loved ones, and all others, delivered out from this chaos. At this rate 4 years of this is far too long.
Do not despair. Do not bury your head. Do not go to sleep. Welcome the winds that the great mystery lives in, follow the seasons that teach us to hold on, honor the earth that is our nurse, step into the heat of your fire, this is our father, our will, and allow the cool waters of our mother, our creative and true intelligence, to temper the heat. I have not lost all hope. Be safe. Be smart. Be peaceful. Look out for each other.
