Dear Friends and Community,
I am not sure in what year it started that my granddaughter declared after the thanksgiving meal had been eaten; “and now it is Christmas”, but it has stuck, and at 22, she said it again. There is an order of things that even young children realize. I hope everyone here had a good Thanksgiving day.
And true it is, now it is Christmas. Having a retail store for the last 24 years makes Christmas begin a bit before Thanksgiving. The thoughts, ideas, and buying begin months in advance. This week is always short but full of work ahead of Black Friday, and Small Business Saturday. It is sort of a scramble that blurs the lines a bit between what is needed and what can wait. And it messes with the navigational wiring, still.
And strangely, what settles me, is making food. Baking pumpkin pies from my little cooked down pumpkins. Making cranberry sauce with cinnamon and orange. Making the sweet potatoes, and the special beet and goat cheese salad that the hostess who invites us to dinner, loves. And I feel so thankful for that time cooking. It is medicine for my soul.
Our dinner was delicious. Being with family is so wonderful. It was sadly reflective this year as one who has shared that meal with us passed over this Monday. I sat next to her last year. I couldn’t help but be reminded of how precious, and fragile we beings are. Bless you Aunt Nancy, and journey well.
Strangely, I didn’t really plan to offer almost all of that, yet I feel it was helpful for me to do so. I feel there is a connection to what I wanted to share, and I will do so down the page after the weeks schedule and such like things.
I had hoped to be confirmed on our New Years Eve event, but I am not. So no matter what, next week an event will be posted.

Due to the holidays we will not have all of our usual events. They will resume in January.
…And It Is Christmas…
So when we arrived home from dinner, there that Moon was. And I just wanted to fall down for how she gazed one eyed so lovingly at me. The glowing orb of light felt so personal.This Eye visits me often. I paint, draw,and doodle it often…often. This night time Eye had no particular message, only its presence, and love, which I accepted.
So that is that. This week I feel very disturbed about food insecurity…starvation among people who depended on U.S.A.I.D. for food and medicines, that was stopped on day 1 of this administration, and gutted by DOGE. Since then 600,000 have died of starvation and related illnesses. 400,000 estimated to be children. This is not in our face every day. And I know we care about these things. Below are 2 links. People in our world need us. Our country has abandoned them, allowing them to stave to death. Of all the news there is to get upset about, this has grabbed at me. There is no way for me to reconcile this as good budget cut. So we do what we can do to help. Our donation can save a life. I felt compelled to share this.
