Dear Friends and Community,
Welcome August! Hope everyone is finding some relief from the heat and humidity. It seems to be hot and even very dry in many places. Relief is needed from heat and fires and drought. I have been reading this week from a book that begs us to ask for what is needed not only for ourselves, but for each other, and even the Earth. Ask, ask, ask, for the best and highest good. I feel sometimes we think it is out of our reach to ask for better conditions to prevail. For the best of all of us to prevail. Are we asking? It does not happen without us asking.
And sometimes we just forget we can ask.
I will get to the calendar and then I will share my Osho Medley. Simply a collection of thoughts from a daily contemplation book that I got behind some days on. So to get to August I had to finish July. And they were wonderful…so I will string them together to share.

An Osho Medley…
If you know me you know the one I have learned from and call my teacher. He never wanted to be known as a guru, but he knew his worth as both a teacher and friend. I never knew him while he was alive, but I feel pretty sure he was called to me because of my asking. Was it prayer, or just random thoughts becoming unuttered longing for something more….the next thing, a new direction? We reach a point when we are ready to learn and then the teacher arrives.
That was 13 years ago. Since them I have continued to have my longings met, not just from Osho, but from all that he read and learned from. What he read, I read. I have embarked on an education of infinite wisdom. It is out of that container that I offer. I never tire of it. I love being in the company of the master teachers from all traditions.
There has been real beauty in this journey, as I have come to love so dearly Osho and all the others that he so loved that offered truth to him. Osho says, and I believe it to be true, that we, people, are most in fear of truth, basically because we know so little of it.
I know I can go on and write so much more about Osho and then all the others. “I teach devotion”, he said in the first book I read. And I had to realize that you can only be devoted to what is true and what you love. These two must meet. And if they do, when they do, you are set to go only forward…there is no turning back.
But I did go back some days just not to miss a thing. I have read and reread this book. I am in my 4th copy and 8th year of beginning and ending every year with this daily read. Again, I never tire or grow weary of the pages of wisdom. I continue to learn from them. We cannot get to the end of infinite wisdom, but it continually keeps opening up to us something new. It does not go further, only deeper. We are finding our depth.
These pages were so rich, just wanted to share them with you.
July 24 ~ Paraphrased.
Life can be a calculation; it can be logical and mundane. It will seem dry, with little song or dance…no flowers blooming. One does not live, but only drags oneself along. Or life can be lived as poetry, as love, as music and celebration. It is our choice how to live it.
We are born as freedom. We are not limited as to what we can be or do. We are not like a tree, that must be a tree, or an animal that must be just what it is. We are not machines or computers. At each step we have a choice, whether to live as poetry or prose, logic or love, as matter or as consciousness, to live a mundane life, or live in bliss. Become aware of your choices and choose intelligently.
July 25/26 Paraphrased.
Love makes everyone great at co-creative expression. Love opens a totally different dimension in your being. Without love one remains confined to the world of logic and reason. Life is life only when love is burning bright inside, when the flame of love is so bright that it begins radiating around you, and it starts reaching others.. Love becomes a blessing to you and to everyone else. One begins to enrich the world with their love. Moves it forward and upward.
July 27 ~ Paraphrased
We can live in two ways: either as a stagnant pool of energy, or as a dynamic flow, like a river of energy. A stagnant pool cannot move beyond its boundaries. A stagnant energy cannot move beyond its biology, here we invest in our ego. Spirit is a river like flow that moves us beyond ourselves. It is a constant transcendence. Moves towards the ocean, towards the infinite, towards the unbounded. Each moment is new, and brings us so much surprise that it cannot be thought about, only encountered.
July 28 ~ Paraphrased
Truth and individuality frighten the status quo. The more devoted one becomes the more misunderstood they are and more maligned they become. Those committed to truth become a danger to all the vested interest of society…the status quo. Many advancements have been made in other fields…in science and technology we have advanced, but psychologically, we are still quite primitive.
July 29, 30, 31 ~ Paraphrased
Man is a strange animal…he explores everything. He will go to Everest and to the North Pole. He will go to the Moon and beyond, into the depths of the ocean, but he does not think of going within himself. The only place he leaves unexplored hisĀ own inner world. And the real treasure is there. We are so unconscious that we go on throwing away all that is precious and go on collecting junk. The only treasure worth searching for is our own nature. That is the real adventure. No one has ever failed. Whoever has put his energy into the inner search and journey has always found himself.
Finding ourselves we find the inner sun that never sets. Unless we know the inner light of ourselves and the source of it, we live in darkness.
The individual is a passage, a bridge from the collective to the universal. We realize freedom from the collective and we dissolve into the whole. This is where we finally find our rest from misery and the anguish of life. We enter into peace and bliss.
August 1 Paraphrased
When we allow the divine to flow through us life changes. We are in a movement, in bliss, in beauty, and in splendor, when we stop obstructing the flow of infinite wisdom and divine energy. We cannot imagine anything better once we are no longer in the way.
In the beginning reading Osho was a challenge…I realized how little I understood. I realized that I was taught to believe and not to explore. I was never one to just trust blindly. My questions were never welcomed, nor answered. Osho didn’t answer all of them either. But he did teach me how to explore my inner world. He taught me to be a friend to myself first. He did show me how to unlearn to relearn. To clear away what is of no good use so I can have space to be filled with what is good for myself and others. Osho remains my master teacher. But he has allowed me to explore in so many directions, learn from so many others. A master teacher opens the heart to the divine. And the divine is everywhere.
I painted his image a few years ago.
The daily writings were taken from
Morning Contemplation by Osho and the first book I spoke of is
Re-member ~ A handbook for Human Evolution by Steve Rother & the Group
