December 14, 2020
The calendar is empty. Heart Space is quiet, for now. There is a bit of sadness around it all for sure, as we know and realize why there are no classes or meditations to look forward to offering or to attend. There is no New Years Eve event as we have had for the last 4 years. The pandemic is winning for right now…for now.
We are giving it the space it needs in this moment. Closing down Heart Space for the remainder of the year and probably into the new year, for a bit, until it feels safe again. We are so weary of the virus and all the mitigation and mask wearing, but now is no the time to let down our guard. We will have to draw on the things learned and allow our strength to guide us through this time.
I think about all we have shared this year and the mantra work that became our weekly practice as we got deeper into the pandemic. I know, for myself, they have been a fortress for me, and I hope in some way that they have served you well. I will continue to offer them through the weekly mail. As they come up for me, I will offer them.
I wish to offer everyone a wonderful holiday season, according to the ways that you celebrate. This is a fully loaded season, depending on which shore this year has left you. Those of us who are just missing being with those we love in the same ways we are accustomed, and those who find themselves without those they love, those that have passes, and those that are sick. There is a deep grief we each are holding.
I am sending my love , thoughts, and prayers to all of us, everyone, here, there and everywhere…it is a global pandemic after all, and what we are feeling is on a universal scale. I hope we can find moments of joy as we navigate all that is not the same. Next year will bring with it the hope of getting out of this. I am grabbing on to that hope, as much as I am looking forward to seeing one another’s faces again. It will take some time I know before that will happen, but it will. But for now we will look into each others eyes and hold each other in a compassionate stare of mutual acknowledgement of the year we have lived and journeyed together.
Peace and blessings,
Denise and Nick Yocco
