Dear Friends and Community,
Sometimes, when the way things seem they are going, and the way we realize they actually are, meet in a reality that we have to adapt to with both a sense of urgency and plain good sense. We can do both. We have to, because we have people to care for, and children to love and hold, and truth to tell, and courage and strength to muster, and communities to stand with, and guides to inquire of, and prayers to place upon our altars, and ancestors to listen for, and, and, and….I am sure you can feel into all that needs to be done.
Perhaps we are not late at all. Perhaps we are right on time. Perhaps all this mess is grace in our face, because the mess has crystalized, and it is plain to see for most everyone now.
And our might needs to be bright. We cannot miss the spiritual element in all we are witnessing, and all we are doing. It has now stretched beyond ourselves alone, we are caring for one another. We are seeing the damage everywhere. And that can be overwhelming…so…

Adapting to Reality…
…So this is a little ask for all of us heading out today to our No Kings protest or for any day it might feel a bit too much. Reach for a piece of earth to ground yourself. Touch a tree, hold on to a shrub, have a moment where you know you are being held. Grounded here to do the spiritual work of being a human being.
I looked down at the grass before getting in the car yesterday and there was that tuft of new grass in the shape of a heart. And if that was not enough there was the tree with the four directions. Both sort of saying, we are in this too and we can hold you steady. Grace in my face. And that too is the greater reality we need to adapt to. Our nature with nature.
There are 3300 protest scheduled in our country for tomorrow. Some outside as well. It is a global event. Easy to Google a location near you. Lets have a great time as we stand up for salvaging our democracy, standing with and for each other, and the rights and benefits, justice and equality we want everyone to have.
We are the hope. We are the miracle. We are the grace in the face of this moment, called and counted. Enjoy the day in peaceful protest.
