Dear Friends and Community,
I extend to all best wishes and blessings for the new year you are hoping to bring forward. I have delayed getting this out again due to a bit of tumult to start the year by way of a pretty serious kitchen leak that cannot be resolved until Monday. I am thankful we do not have to live with the contraption that Nick set up in the mean time for any longer than a couple more days. I am thankful too, that the contraption actually is working.
Beside all of that I spent the last day of the year visiting with some neighbors, speaking with family and friends, emailing and texting as well, reading and feeling inspired and hopeful for the upcoming year.. Special is all this for me because for the last 8 years I have always been busy in Heart Space preparing and offering a NYE event. And while some part of me was missing Heart Space, I feel my soul happily responded to the change this year. These connections felt very important.
While the image above and the title, A Looming HOPE, may seem a paradox, I will offer that they do meet to offer a perspective of probable hope if we are ready for the changes that are needed to bring such. I will share more down the page after the weeks schedule and upcoming events.

A Looming HOPE…
It is born, hope is, out of darkness, out of the gloom of despair, out of some mystery of inspired trust and restored faith. Re-born again from something remembered rather than found. Hope is gifted by grace if we are seeking to know our place and our part in what’s next. We have been through a fitful year to say the least. We are learning about ourselves as we navigate the strange disruptive chaos, cruel governance, and war mongering stance our country has taken. Most of us are moving beyond despair and realizing the part we each offer to change course.
We will have to realize there is no going back to what was. What was still left too many out. What happens when we want no one left out? That is evolution. That is the looming hope or a hope that looms, waiting for us to change together, to bring the next real change that offers hope to all.
True change will in some way challenge us all. And the alternative to true change will always be illusion and lies. Are we ready for something more than that. I feel we are more than ready to try. More than ready to stretch ourselves to meet the next year, which we can be sure will offer more of the same insanity and disruption, with resounding and resolute commitment to the work within and around us to allow for changes that will heal us together. And then…there was light again.
These words are living words for each civilization, each generation, each person, to realize. Darkness will always come. And then it will always be up to us to bring light again and again until incrementally we realize we are the light that was waiting to be realized, remembered and reborn. We have enough here happening to realize, we have enough darkness that it cannot be missed. There are enough of us to pierce this darkness with hope and light. We have many guardians and ancestors just waiting for the call. May we be so inspired to call them in, may we be so brave to embrace the bolder changes we may have to make. May we assist and help one another do so.
The photo is of inscribed marble done by a dear friend Noah Arnold. It is 9 years since he has passed. He was 19, and so very talented in more ways that seem possible for one so young. He was intelligent,sensitive,Adorable, funny, quite funny, gentle and kind. He took his life and for sure we will never really understand why. I do know that he was troubled by the lack of love we show for each other in our country to the point of it feeling hopeless. I wish he would have stayed. A heart like his is needed. He remains with me. His passing has altered me. When he gave me the slabs of marble he had made I told him I wanted to paint them. “They are yours now, you can do anything you want with them”. So I love them. They are reminders, and they help me remember to remember the light. Thank you Noah.
